Two wonderful weeks
Gaby, Germany
In June 2019 I spent two wonderful weeks in ‘paradise’ at Paradix. This place radiates incredible beauty and tranquility as soon as you enter the spacious property. A richly planted, well maintained garden invites you to linger in many places. I immediately felt at home in the apartment with its tasteful modern furnishings and its own little terrace. Everything is perfectly equipped, from the kitchen utensils to the sewing box. And in the communal laundry room, equipped with washing machine and ironing board, there’s even a collection of games.

Susanna Glennie is a warm and attentive host, and is happy to respond to any question you may have. On your way to the wonderful swimming pool, surrounded by inviting sun loungers, you can chat with guests from the other apartments, and exchange tips for restaurants and outings. There is so much to discover in the area. I was particularly impressed by proximity to the Canal du Midi, where I enjoyed walking under the shady trees.

Meeting local people on my daily trip to the bakery and the greengrocer made me feel surrounded by French flair. The weekly market is small, but offers everything you need. I would single out the fish stall for its exceptionally fresh, high-quality produce. The market hall in Narbonne offers everything in an even greater variety and is well worth a visit.

With trips to the beach, to Béziers and Narbonne, and to the wine regions of La Clape and the Minervois, I also saw a lot of the surroundings, all of which I loved. Returning to Paradix after each excursion was like coming home.

A nice place to stay!
Pia, Germany
We’ve known Susanna for more than 30 years. Having previously stayed at her hotel in Tuscany, we have now spent many holidays in the Languedoc, often with friends. Rather than repeating what others have written about Paradix, I will simply confirm what they have already said. For us, the feeling is like ‘coming home’. I wholeheartedly recommend a holiday in this wonderful place where you can completely unwind. You’ll also find that Susanna has plenty of recommendations for splendid restaurants.

A little piece of heaven
Maureen, Switzerland
Paradix is a little piece of heaven in Languedoc, which allows for ultimate rest and relaxation. Much care has been given to detail in the tastefully designed, well-equipped apartments. As a guest one immediately feels at home. The surrounding area offers a variety of destinations for outings. There is something for almost all interests, ranging from the charming cities of Béziers and Narbonne to the Canal du Midi or the seaside, which we found very appealing in the off-season with its white-capped waves and deserted beaches.

The spacious garden feels like a park with its old plane trees and shady nooks. We often ended our day with a great bottle of local wine, local olive oil, fresh bread from the village bakery and a salad made with fresh vegetables from the local market in Nissan. The owner is a true gem. She always pointed us in the right direction and offered valuable insight to the area.

Best holiday apartments
Carol, United Kingdom
This is one of the best holiday apartments our family group of two adults and two children has ever stayed in. The apartment itself was clean, bright, spacious and modern. The owners, former architects, have created a Corbusier style across this little complex, while retaining the particularly classic period feel of the former vintner’s house. It’s very stylish, yet comfortable and relaxing. The gardens are lovely and peaceful, the pool very good – bigger than most pools at such holiday homes. We had great weather so spent many many hours swimming and sunbathing there. The Swiss owner was very friendly, answering all our questions, tolerating our children, who played beach tennis in the garden, piggy-backed on the main house wifi and bothered her cats, with great cheer. She also gave us a tour of the main house, which she and her husband have impressively restored and modernised. The apartments are very well located, just five minutes walk into the village with its two bakeries and small shops, and within walking distance of the famous Canal du Midi, where we walked and cycled, as well as the lovely hills and meadows around, allowing many hiking oportunities. Bezier and other well;known sites of interest, plus a number of very good restaurants, are a very short drive away. I can’t recommend this place highly enough!

Oasis of tranquility
Alan and Gill, United Kingdom
Paradix is an excellent place to relax, the apartment is so well designed, light and airy, clean and so well equipped in every detail. The garden is so well tended and offers shade as well as sunny spots giving the opportunity of alfresco dining whatever the season.
Paradix is close to the centre of the village but is an oasis of tranquillity, it is a joy to take the thoughtfully provided wicker basket and visit the market on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays to buy fresh fish, meat, fruit and vegetables, such a refreshing change from supermarket shopping.
This is the second year we have holidayed at Paradix and hopefully we will be able to continue to visit in the years to come.

A holiday paradise in the Languedoc
sisteract Hamburg, Germany
The apartments are modern and very tastefully decorated, and the kitchens are wonderfully well equipped. Not forgetting the fantastic garden with its unmistakable Mediterranean scents. Along with all the cultural and sporting options available in the area, there’s also the pleasure of simply lying by the pool with a good book. We felt very much at ease here and the owners are lovely.

One of the very best
Esther and Andres CH-Delémont
Although it sounds like a paradox, Paradix is a real paradise. The apartment kitchens are fully equipped to five-star level. The sublime garden offers peace and quiet, or you can swim in the crystal-clear waters of the pool. The setting is a beautifully restored historical complex in the heart of Nissan lez Ensérune, a village with a lovely fresh food market. We give the quality/price ratio top marks!

Clean, stylish, characterful
Carol, Brighton, United Kingdom
One of the best places our family has ever stayed. Perfect – clean, stylish, characterful, well-equipped, beautiful crystal-clear pool, aromatic and lovely gardens, friendly, knowledgeable owners. They are former architects who have tastefully restored this former vintner’s complex, creating a mix of classic period France and Corbusier. The apartments are a few minutes walk from the village, with market, bakeries and small shops. Bigger amenities and great eateries within short drive. Beautiful hills, historic sites, Canal du Midi (walking, cycling) walking distance. Coast, Bezier etc nearby. “

A supremely relaxing paradise
CK_RLP Mainz
As soon as you step through the beautiful entrance gate to Paradix you start to relax. The owners have created a true paradise here. The apartments (we’ve stayed in two of them on different holidays) have been set up to be both functional and comfortable. Everything is organised so that you immediately feel at ease. We were very struck by how well the furnishings and equipment have been thought through. There’s absolutely nothing missing. That feeling starts in the kitchen and goes right through to the external lighting and power sockets on the private patio — a real test of a successful holiday for passionate outdoor Scrabble players and music-listeners like us.
In addition to the fantastic apartments, the other things that make Paradix so special are the wonderful large garden, the beautiful swimming pool with its array of deckchairs and loungers, shaded by ancient plane trees, the village church, and — last but definitely not least — the incredibly friendly owners.

A dream of a holiday

Inspired by the photos on the web, we took ourselves off to Paradix and found paradise. Everything matched the descriptions we’d read, and there was much more besides. Our expectations were exceeded in every respect. If you’re looking for peace and quiet, a well cared for location with a distinctive atmosphere, and comfortable accommodation, this is the place for you. The owners were welcoming yet discreet. Paradix is definitely to be recommended.

Paradix, a holidaymaker’s paradise
pauker54 Lahnstein, Germany
We never used to want to go on holiday to the same place twice, until we spent our first holiday at Paradix. Here we found our own personal ‘paradise’: a park-like garden with ancient plane trees, fig trees and many Mediterranean plants; well cared for, generously proportioned apartments; a large swimming pool; and, particularly worth noting, very hospitable owners. This year will be our third trip to Nissan lez Ensérune.

Paradix/Paradise
Negus Hanau, Hessen, Germany
The green-painted wrought-iron gate opened to lead us once again into this holiday paradise in Nissan (situated in the Languedoc, between Beziers and Narbonne). Over the past 10 years the Swiss owners have created a holiday refuge consisting of four holiday homes surrounding the maison de maître. These holiday homes are incomparably well fitted out and comfortable. It goes without saying that guests are warmly received, and very quickly you feel completely at home. This is helped by the apartments’ light and functional furnishings and the well equipped kitchens, right down to the oyster knife. Satellite TV means you can watch programmes from home, and the incredibly comfortable beds ensure restorative sleep, both by night and by day. Everything is unobtrusively clean and well cared for. Each week the apartments are cleaned and the linens changed. The garden, which the owners look after with love and commitment, is a treat for the eye and offers every comfort. You can take refuge from the heat of the southern sun, that’s in full force from June, in the clear water of the swimming pool, or enjoy an aperitif in the shade of the great plane trees. The garden is rich in Mediterranean herbs that make a delicious fresh salad to go with a crusty baguette. And it’s easy to find things to see and do, or where to shop and eat, thanks to the comprehensive literature provided. What more can we say? We strongly suggest you try it: Paradix is quite simply a paradise.

Space, care and attention, wonderful ambiance
Triple-K Mainz, Deutschland
This was our second visit to Nissan this year. Their generous size is what makes these apartments stand out from so many others we’ve seen in the South of France. Apartment 2 has a completely private, covered balcony upstairs, enabling you to enjoy the beautiful sunset or even sit out when the weather isn’t perfect.
Other aspects that make this holiday residence stand out are the incredibly well equipped kitchen and the carefully put together folder of helpful information about all sorts of things to do around Nissan lez Ensérune. We hardly need to mention the fantastic garden and the warmth and kindness of the owners. All in all it’s a perfect place for a singularly perfect holiday.

A peaceful, green oasis

The information provided about the complex and the apartment was completely accurate. The apartment was beautifully clean and well cared for, and incredibly well equipped. The owners were very friendly and helpful, yet pleasantly discreet. We wholeheartedly recommend the accommodation — you can really find peace and quiet there.
